Our Story
Our family left communist Vietnam and immigrated to the US in 1980. Prior to fleeing our homeland, our family ran a cafe. With only $10 in his pocket, my dad dreamt of having his own restaurant in the states. He started off as a bus boy in Las Vegas and moved up to dishwasher and eventually server. Earning just a few dollars per day he eventually scrappped up enough money to start his first business in 1987, Thien Thanh, located in Santa Ana. It was a family restaurant that served comfort foods like braised catfish and hot and sour soup. We ran that business from 1987-2005.
